Acupuncture

Traditional Chinese medicine can be beneficial for many conditions relating to physical, mental, and emotional health. I utilize acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion and herbal medicine as needed to help reduce pain, balance hormones, reduce stress, and to bring the body, mind, and spirit back into harmony.

Dr. Whitney Jacqueline Bird, L.Ac., DACM

Hello! Feel free to call me Whitney, Dr. Bird, or, as most of my little pals do, Auntie Whitney. She/Her, if you please.

My motivation in this practice stems from the simple fact that I care deeply about the health and happiness of fellow humans, especially my patients. My formal education in the medicine indigenous to the people of China was from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine @ CIIS in San Francisco, where I received my master's and doctorate. Since then I have been humbled to learn from and work under the the brilliant and generous TCM doctors Raymond Himmel, Danny Geren, and Anne White, and my very best teachers; my patients. I'm licensed by the California Acupuncture Board and nationally certified by the NCCAOM for acupuncture and herbal medicine. If you've met me, you know my passion for the medicine is enthusiastic to say the least, and I treat every body that crosses through my door (or screen!) with that energy and care, and am particularly partial to treating pediatrics. My treatments often include acupuncture, cupping, shonishin, moxibustion, gua sha, breathwork, nutritional and emotional consultations, often times herbal formulas, and occasionally tuina or qi gong. I love homework, and prescribe plenty of it. I'm originally from Vallejo, CA, and have been a Marin resident (Coast Miwok Territory) for the better part of a decade, loving Napa. I am grateful every day to have the opportunity to practice the medicine I love in a place of such extraordinary natural beauty. When not treating patients, I can be found outdoors birding, biking, hiking, sailing, or foraging herbs alongside my dearest Frenchies, and my rascally adventure cat, The Doctor, and my beloved human.
